Water Fountain

I hit Chicago Ridge Mall again this weekend. In the midst of our shopping spree I took a break and sat down next to the water fountains that looked more like sprinkler systems. This was my first attempt at capturing water. I've always been a bit intimidated and suspected blurriness because of the rapid free flowing motion of water. I took a couple shots and waited to see the outcome when I returned home. What do you think?

DePaul University

I miss going to DePaul. The university has made many more renovations since I last went. I went for an Alumni meeting the other day and reminisced through this old building.

Remembering Rome

I was looking through my travel pictures and decided to recycle one of my favorite pictures in this section. This was taken last year in Rome, while walking through the coliseum. Want to see more? Make sure you visit my ROME photoblog in the navigation above.

Warm Day in Winter

Today was such a nice day, definitely warmer and sunnier than the previous cold and rainy days that we had this weekend. They actually gave me a cold that I am now trying to fight off. As I waited for the light to turn green, after I exited the expressway, I took a moment to roll down my window and admire the sunset.

Melting Snow

I loved today's weather, 50 degrees F. I had a chance to wash my car, go for a drive and 'oh yeah' watch the snow melt.

The Snow Falls Over the Snowman

The snow will melt this weekend when the Chicagoland area may possibly hit the 50 degree mark. Soon we will have to say goodbye to our cute snowman that my siser and nephew created last week.

Hazy Snow

This week the Midwest and northeast part of the US was hit with major snow storms. The northeast part of the country without a doubt received far more snow than Chicago. What was I doing while it snowed - driving. It first hit us at night, when I was also driving but I didn't have my camera with. The next day I had to take my mom to my aunt's and was hit with the second phase of the snow. This time I was prepared and snapped away. Having been in my storms before I was not scared at all, that type of stuff is exciting for me.

Shed Aquarium

This past weekend I took my cousins, sister and nephew to the Shed Aquarium. Kids sure are innocent and carefree aren't they? They had a very good time and enjoyed the fishies. Take a look at some snapshots I took during our visit at the aquarium.

Winter NIght In Chicago

I left work around 6:30pm and wanted to capture the snow fallling. The haze and night lights I think captured that moment for me well.

Let It Snow

Where were you when the first snow storm of the year fell? I wanted snow but I wanted it to fall while I was sleeping. Many of it did, but many of it also came pouring down all day the next day. I had to endure walking six blocks from the train station where my car was parked, while the snow hit my face as I walked against the wind.

Chicago Graffiti

I was driving by Ashland & North avenue the other day and saw the mural on a side building. I couldn't help but pull over and look at it more closely. The botton read Thanx 2 MIS Computer Corp, when it should say Thanx 2 Our Troops. Hang in there Joe, I hope you return home soon.

Hanging Lamp

I like this lamp, found in one of our bedrooms. Sometimes it seems cold, dull and standard. Other times it seems clean and simple reminding me of an awakening of sorts.

Mad Holiday Rush

Another Christmas has passed and I survived the shopping frenzy. The malls were packed, the cars were lined up for miles. I fought and argued with no one over a parking space. I bought my gifts and gave them away. I even went to the day after Christmas sales unscathed. I'm looking forward to do it all over again next year :)

Birds Of A Feather

I can picture old men with those white tank tops sitting like these birds... just loafing around the porch bench watching the people pass by.

Flying Through a Friendly Sky

I no longer live directly under the landing path of the airplanes. However, I do still live 5 minutes away from the airport and don't mind seeing the marvel of these giant metal birds pass by.

McCormick Place Lakeside View

A look from McCormick Place - Lakeside Center. I stepped outside from one of the conference rooms and took in a long deep breath. The cold didn't let me stay out there for too long.

Our Christmas decorations are up, the centerpiece for the dinner table reflects the holiday times. I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping :) I'm hoping the season will lift up my spirits.

Me & My Shadow - la la la

I took my car to get an oil change today. While the work was being performed I took a long walk, fell down (Yes I fell down), got back up and took pictures along the way. Here is one of my shadow, looks like the abominable snowman doesn't it?

How was my Thanksgiving you ask? It was Nice...

It was Thanksgiving day and Charlie wanted to do something different. Instead of going to the park he wanted to take a walk by the lake. I normally take him by the lake in the summer, I guessed he missed it, so he dragged me out to the cold. We geared up in our winter attire and took a drive by the Shedd Aquarium. After seeing this picture I realized Charlie needed a trim, and have cut his long beard and the fur around his eyes, since. He looks years younger now :) You wouldn't know from this picture but he is only three years old (21 in dog years) but by no means as old as he looks here.
