Another Moon Picture

What a gloomy and cold day today was. The only pretty thing I saw today was the moon.

Mad Holiday Rush

Another Christmas has passed and I survived the shopping frenzy. The malls were packed, the cars were lined up for miles. I fought and argued with no one over a parking space. I bought my gifts and gave them away. I even went to the day after Christmas sales unscathed. I'm looking forward to do it all over again next year :)

Birds Of A Feather

I can picture old men with those white tank tops sitting like these birds... just loafing around the porch bench watching the people pass by.

Flying Through a Friendly Sky

I no longer live directly under the landing path of the airplanes. However, I do still live 5 minutes away from the airport and don't mind seeing the marvel of these giant metal birds pass by.

McCormick Place Lakeside View

A look from McCormick Place - Lakeside Center. I stepped outside from one of the conference rooms and took in a long deep breath. The cold didn't let me stay out there for too long.

Happy Holidays

Our Christmas decorations are up, the centerpiece for the dinner table reflects the holiday times. I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping :) I'm hoping the season will lift up my spirits.

Me & My Shadow - la la la

I took my car to get an oil change today. While the work was being performed I took a long walk, fell down (Yes I fell down), got back up and took pictures along the way. Here is one of my shadow, looks like the abominable snowman doesn't it?

How was my Thanksgiving you ask? It was Nice...

It was Thanksgiving day and Charlie wanted to do something different. Instead of going to the park he wanted to take a walk by the lake. I normally take him by the lake in the summer, I guessed he missed it, so he dragged me out to the cold. We geared up in our winter attire and took a drive by the Shedd Aquarium. After seeing this picture I realized Charlie needed a trim, and have cut his long beard and the fur around his eyes, since. He looks years younger now :) You wouldn't know from this picture but he is only three years old (21 in dog years) but by no means as old as he looks here.

Night Motion

I've been experimenting with night pictures and better yet moving objects. I know this may be common knowledge for many but I finally figured out how to get the effects of motion. Notice the difference when only one object moves and then when both move in different directions.

Rail Underpass

I use to always be scared of going under these viaducts at night, especially when I lived in a bad neighborhood. They are usually dirty, smelly and dark. I drove by my old neighborhood the other day, nothing has changed.

Bundle Up Winter is Here!

This picture was taken last week, I just didn't want to admit that winter was here. The sunny day didn't reflect how cold it was, but seeing these pedestrians bundled up sure clued me in. I remind you that I do take pictures when I'm driving ;)

Still in Awe!

I drove into work today, luckily I had my camera in the car. I snapped a picture from the parking garage - The Sears Tower still amazes me. It's just a collection of blocks but it's presence can not only seen miles away but is felt, especially when you are so close to it.

Pictures From a Day at the Park

Here are a few pictures I took this past Saturday at Marquette Park. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining, Charlie (my dog) was rolling, The ducks were quacking - You get the point.

This one is my favorite, I love the way this tree is shaped, from trunk to branches, I only wish I could have seen it earlier with a few colorful leaves. Click on this and the other pictures below to view larger image.

Autumn Pictures

It's amazing how something can look so beautiful and colorful while it's life is ending. These leaves have lost their green tone and the cold is drying them out, but these autumn leaves are still hanging on. Click on this and the other fall pictures below to view larger image.

A Dark Sunset

I love driving, you'll find that many of the pictures I take are while I'm on the road. With the exception of rush hour traffic I find driving to be very calming. However, driving while the sun sets is even more soothing and beautiful.

2004 Halloween Pictures

I enjoyed a halloween parade this weekend. I dressed up as a devil this year, don't worry I won't post my picture. Here's a picture of Mike from Monster's Inc. as we gets invited for a picture pose on top of the magic carpet float.

Typical Night

Always a techie I have my laptop closeby. I have come to learn that having it in close proximity allows me to actually type whenever I get the urge to write. Finally one less excuse not to commit to the blog.

Enchanted Castle

I went to an enchanted castle this weekend. Well not a real one, that was the name of this game establishment. I went with my sister and nephew and had a really good time. I wish the wizard that greeted us was a real wish grantor. I would have wished for more tokens to get on the wave motion ride. That was a lot of fun.

View From La Cupola di San Pietro - Roma, Italia

This is just a close up of the view from the top most point of the cupola of Saint Peter's Church in Rome. As my previous post stated the climb was long and tiresome but worth it. Pretty nice view, don't you think?

La Cupola di San Pietro - Roma, Italia

As my first post I wanted to post one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. This is a picture of the Cupola from the church of San Pietro in Rome, Italy. My mother and I climbed all the way to the top. I forgot how may stairs it took, but I recall the passage up kept getting narrower and narrower. The escalation was tiring but completely worth it.
